Principal's Message

My name is Tia May and I am the new Principal of La Jolla Elementary School. I am very excited about coming back to work with the staff, students and parents in this community. In 2008-2009 school year I was Assistant Principal here. It’s nice because I feel like I am coming back home. Since leaving La Jolla I have been the Principal at Butterfield and Edgemont Elementary schools. I look forward to meeting you and working with you to enhance your students’ educational experience.

I would like to welcome you to La Jolla Elementary where our goal is to create a dynamic learning experience that will cultivate a strong sense of character, allow our children to discover new perspectives, and inspire them to become informed global citizens. I am thankful to have a group of dedicated staff members, supportive parents and amazing students. We will work hard to assure you that your student will work hard to achieve high levels of academic achievement each year. We believe that success is earned through hard work and dedication to continued improvement.

Your student will take an active role in their education, setting challenging goals and striving to achieve their personal best. Staff members will continue to work collaboratively to guide each child through a rigorous curriculum built on a foundation of high expectations and a love of learning.

Successful programs require a strong home-school connection and we value the extraordinary partnership we maintain with our families and greater community. We know that parental involvement is a child’s education from an early age and has a significant impact on educational achievement. As a result of our combined efforts we will be able to look forward to a future of limitless possibilities.

We look forward to serving you in the 2014-2015 school year. Please contact our school office if we can be of any assistance!

Sincerely,

Tia May, Principal

La Jolla Elementary
